Colour palette inspiration- lilac and herb
Nature is an abundant source of inspiration, I am lucky to be surrounded by it. Freshly picked from my garden I felt drawn to photographing combinations of overgrown dill and the flowers from the hosta plant which was the starting point for this new colour palette.
Combinations of greyed lilac, soft creamy yellow, mustard hues with bases of green are both calming, slightly off beat, old and new all at once. Lilac has come through in both interiors and fashion after pink dominating trends for some time, combined with herb yellows and greens it still looks pretty yet more sophisticated.
Interiors - work both in keeping the walls light and using gauzy cottons to dress windows in lilac shades or bring in weight and richness with velvets in mustard and green tones on furniture and accessories against walls saturated in colour.
Ready to wear - colour block lilacs and tones of yellow in natural fabrics, silks, linens and cotton, accessorise with caramel leather bags or pops of green and butter soft belts and shoes.
This palette can translates well into branding and could be a gorgeous starting point for wedding inspiration too.
